The 'Mindset and Energy' (ME) framework provides the curriculum for sport development programs (PDF, 42KB) that are delivered at the Runaway Bay Sport and Leadership Excellence Centre. There are 6 focus areas within the 'ME' framework that are grouped under 'Mindset' and 'Energy'. The areas under mindset are those that involve the student athlete's thought processes and internal motivations while those on the energy side relate to output and their observable behaviours.
Values provides the entry point into the sport development camp experience by getting students to identify what's important and motivates them as athletes. This leads into the power of influence where brining values to life through actions, behaviours, communications and decisions (ABCD's) has the potential to positively impact others which opens up into the relevance of 'culture' as an important dynamic in the performance sport environment.
Focus, growth, balance are discussed throughout the physical challenges that student's experience while on camp as important areas to embed in their thinking and ABCD's to effectively nurture and develop their talent.
